Rydel Cerezo investigates the spaces between sexuality, religion and race. He is interested in how these disparate themes metaphorically and visually coalesce. Cerezo instrumentalizes the camera as a means to work through ancestry and destiny.
Cerezo has exhibited internationally including Aperture Foundation, the Vogue Italia Festival and the Polygon Gallery. Cerezo was shortlisted for the Philip B. Lind Emerging Artist Prize, Jurors Pick for the Salt Spring Art Prize and shortlisted for the Sobey Art Award .
