HORSESPEAK

This ongoing series revisits the Cloverdale Rodeo, a mainstay throughout the artist’s youth and coming of age in Surrey, BC. For this project, Cerezo was granted special access to the 2024 country fair, held annually over the Victoria Day long weekend, to photograph the cowboys and cowgirls between shows. Cerezo’s sensitive imagery captures moments of serenity between the pageantry and performance of rodeo culture, carrying forward the themes of memory, nostalgia, and autobiography that resonate across their work.
